Ж-Men...but not the ones you might expect!
This week LJ Russia launched Ж-Men, a new comedy series about superheroes, inspired by the LJ communities dedicated to superheros, comics and cartoons. The title's "Ж" comes from ЖЖ, the nickname for LiveJournal in Russia.

Ж-Men's script is written by a group of LJ enthusiasts who also happen to be television professionals. Who knew? Following the premiere, five more episodes will be broadcast over the next two weeks. We hope you find the series fresh and enjoyable.

This is, of course, an experiment for LiveJournal. As always, we'd love to hear what you think!

Tonya called a little while ago, and Uncle Frank's back at the hospital. The doctor was with him this morning, and he's said that Uncle Frank has two weeks to live. I guess they're gonna keep him at the hospital 'cause he's on steady medication and stuff to keep him easy.

Mama just came home from work, and I went with Deddy when he told her. She fell down on the bed and started crying, and... I haven't seen her that upset in a long time, and this is all so heartbreaking. I don't even know what to say, and I can't stop crying either, and just.

It's one of those things that you keep expecting. Like, I just called my brother, Randy, to pass the news on to him, and he said he's been expecting it, and he's surprised the doctor said he had that long left, you know? But still. It's just... I know I've been writing in here about him getting worse, but this is so much more official now. "Two weeks left." It's unbelievable.

This sucks.

So, hey, look at me. I got a new layout finally! \o/ It's Ghost of You-themed, and the header is angst-ridden Mikeydeath, but. I like it! It's greeeeeeen.

I've been cleaning up my room slowly but surely this week, which is no easy feat. I mean, I have cleaned. You could eat off my floor, swear to God. But I am so tired. D:

Whatever. While I've been cleaning, I've put everything bandom-y on a playlist, and I've been listening to it nonstop, right. So this means I finally got off my ass and have listened to Pretty. Odd. Most of it, at least. I'm pretty sure by now I've heard every track? I think? I dunno. Whatev, man. I mean, I'm not very Panic-inclined, but sometimes I like those hateful hippie bastards. I really like Pas De Cheval, and Folkin' Around surprised me because wtf is Panic doing coming out with a country/western jig out of nowhere? No one told me they had a country/western jig. And I like The Piano Knows Something I Don't (or whatever the title is), and of course Nine in the Afternoon. Oh, and Mad as Rabbits and That Green Gentleman! I know titles! \o/ I'm not too crazy about Behind the Sea, and I know that's going to make everyone want to hate me, but. I'm sorry! D:

Also, in cleaning up my room, I found spare change lying around as you do. $19.28 cents of spare change. So Mama traded me a twenty for it, and I can pay on my credit card bill now! Yus! Hahahha, I'm so far behind on that. I miss money.

Speaking of money that I shouldn't have spent when I had it and God I'm regretting it now, My Toro shirt came in the mail. And it's so awesome. I was pulling it out of the bag, and Mama goes "Oh, look. More black." And then I held it up, and she came and looked at it, and she was like "Oh, this is the cutest one yet! He's got his hair in his face, ahaha." It feels like a minor victory. >:D

Oh! So! I found out about this financial aid that'll give me four thousand bucks a year to go to any college in Mississippi I want (that supports it, of course) as long as I sign a contract that says I'll teach at a poorer school. And all the schools in P-ville are on it, which is awesome. I can teach here, and I get money for college for it. I just need to call the River and see if they work with the TEACHGrant. I really should get on that.

I'm in love with "Ian is Amazingly Beautiful" by Eisley right now (even though the line "And Chad's family now" makes me wibble a little). Also "Modern Moonlight" by The Dresden Dolls. And everything ever by Empires and The Hush Sound. How so awesome, music?

Unrelated: I really, really hate drinking water. It is annoying and not tasty. >:(

I am thinking of changing my LJ layout. This orange is fug, and the header is very badly Photoshopped. It all needs redoing!

Anyway. I spent Tuesday night/Wednesday/Thursday at Raina's. We watched TBPiD! Three times. IT IS THE MOST AWESOME THING YOU WILL EVER SET BEFORE YOUR EYEBALLS. I reminded Raina during the Hoboken recording that "Teenagers" was the song I had got concert called, and she was all "Get the fuck out, you actually got concert called from this show and heard Teenagers? Oh my God!" She possibly fangirled that fact more than I did (she told everybody; it was adorable), and Yeah. I totally lost it. /o\

But yeah. DVD = Amazing. I love that band.

In other news! I did not sleep at all Tuesday night. Had a panic attack, lol depression, blah blah, and ended up staying up in their living room reading a Big Bang. That was pretty nifty, but I was so exhausted all day after that. I feel like I made everyone miserable. Blah.

OH BUT ALSO. When I was lying in bed and trying to sleep, I ended up finally listening to Empires just for shits and giggles. AND I AM TOTALLY IN LOVE. I WANT TO SEE THEM LIVE, AND I WANT MORE OF THEIR MUSIC, AND THEY ARE SO GOOD OMG. *___* Oh, and then I listened to a bunch of new Eisley stuff that I hadn't gotten around to listening to yet, and oh man. Oh God, what's that one song? Ian, You're So Beautiful? Or something like that? I don't know, but it's so cute, and it's hilarious! There's lullabyes! Urgh, I'm on such a The Hush Sound/Empires/Eisley kick right now. I could just die.

Oh! Yesterday at Raina's, we watched Alvin and the Chipmunks, and other than my irrational, bizarre hatred of CGI, it was ridiculously cute! I wanted to hug Theodore and tell him it would all be okay. DDDDD: Also, I introduced everybody to Fronk n Dego Films, and they all loved them, and I have a total crush on Vinny. /o\

But yeah, except for the drama, staying at Raina's was awesome! Even if I hid behind my laptop most of the time because I fail at life.

OH BUT GUESS WHAT HAPPENED TODAY! \o/ Other than Fourth of July yummy food tiems, that is. Ellie (two_grey_rooms) called me! For the first time ever! il Internet friends that call me, even if they pick on my southern accent that I don't have, and she's a lying liar that lies. BUT YEAH. It was exciting, and we talked about all sorts of things, and ilher so much. She's one of my faaaaavorites. Also, she admitted to me that she's starting to like MCR (she already likes TAI and Cobras and Hushies, I think). I made victory arms. Also also also, she is the most adorable thing ever, holy mother of God.

I feel a little better about everything in general but not really. Part of me does, part of me doesn't. Blah.

In conclusion: needs moar Cobra fic. Get on that, fandom. >:(
